About the speaker

From the age of 13 during my first babysitting jobs, I knew I loved working with children. Naturally calm and patient in nature, I saw the importance of good communication. This approach continues to inform my professional practices today. 

 Having been born to teacher parents (my mum a teacher in reception and my dad a sports teacher), I was always quite academic at school. This has prevailed throughout the years as I continue to enjoy keeping abreast of developments and published research in my field.

I am continually fascinated by children; they never cease to amaze me and are by far my best teachers. The wonder of watching a newborn baby drink in the big wide world is captivating. If you are looking for me at a large social gathering, start by following the laughter of children... that is most likely where I will be!

Caroline is a child development expert and parenting support worker, covering a range of topics from toilet training, sleep support and other developmental milestones.
